How Align works

Finding a therapist shouldn’t feel like guesswork. Here’s exactly what happens when you reach out.

Step by step

01

Tell us about yourself

Submit a brief intake request. We’ll ask a few straightforward questions about what you’re looking for, your availability, and any preferences you have about your therapist.

02

We make the match

Our client intake coordinator will reach out within 24 hours to match you with the right therapist for your unique needs and get the first appointment scheduled.

03

Meet your therapist

Your first appointment is the opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other. The magic of therapy is in the relationship you build and that starts on day 1.

Never done this before?

Starting is the hardest part. You’re already doing it.

Most people spend a long time deciding whether to reach out. They wonder if their reasons are serious enough, if now is the right time, if therapy is really for someone like them or if therapy really works.

It is and it does! And you don’t need to have it figured out before you start — that’s what your therapist is for. The hardest step is the one you’re taking right now.

Insurance & fees

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept a range of insurance plans in Washington. Full list on the Services page. If you’re not sure whether your plan is accepted, reach out and we’ll check.

What about Out-of-Network coverage?

We can help. Most out-of-network plans reimburse a portion of session costs, and we’ll do the filing for you.

What if I don’t have insurance?

We offer private pay options. Rates vary by clinician. Contact us for current rates and to discuss what works for your situation.

Frequently asked questions

How often will I meet with my therapist?

Most clients start with weekly sessions. The frequency can shift over time based on your needs and what you and your therapist decide together.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Your therapist will walk you through the cancellation policy during your first session.

Is telehealth as effective as in-person?

Research shows that telehealth therapy is equally effective for most concerns. Many clients actually find it easier to engage when they’re in their own space. If you have specific concerns about whether telehealth is right for your situation, we’re happy to talk it through.

What if I’m in crisis?

If you’re in immediate crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or go to your nearest emergency room. Align is not a crisis service.
